As an encore to its annual spring showcase, Boston Design Week hosts a fall round of events, September 27- October 16.

Under the theme “Fall into Art and Design,” Boston Design Week’s 3-week festival offers a range of programs geared to increase awareness and appreciation of the vital role design plays in our lives.

Some of highlights include a presentation from Fall River-based rug manufacturer, Merida. Through a live presentation with video from Merida’s workshop, where each rug is made to order, installer Bob Margies and textile designer Gabrielle Ferreira will present a masterclass on designing custom stair runners that lead the eye from riser to tread.

Celebrated maximalist interior designer  Philip Mitchell  chats with design journalist  Kyle Hoepner  about his creative outlook and the methods he employed to shape the stunning projects featured in his new book,  Collected Interiors: Rooms That Tell a Story.
